Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) VIC

At its core, the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme focuses on the creation of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs), which are generated after an eligible solar system is installed. These certificates can then be assigned or sold to a retailer.

For example, in Melbourne under this scheme, if you purchase a 6 kWh solar system you could receive up to $2,160 based on an STC rate of $36.

Remember that in order to claim the rebate, a Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited solar installer must be involved in the installation process.

Eligibility for Small-scale Technology Certificates in VIC

In order to qualify for STCs, Victorians must have an approved solar renewable energy system. Some of these systems include:

Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
Solar water heaters
Wind turbines
Hydro systems
Air source heat pumps
