Overview of Solar Panel Rebates for Rental Properties in VIC

The Victorian government is offering eligible rental providers a $1,400 rebate to help reduce the cost of installing solar systems. A maximum of two rental properties each year can benefit from this rebate, provided the Solar Homes Rental provider-Rental Agreement has been signed and eligibility criteria have been met.

Victorian rental providers that are eligible to receive this rebate for their property must adhere to the following eligibility criteria, according to VIC government standards:

The renter have a combined income of no greater than $180,000 per year
The property value is under $3 million and does not currently have any solar PV panels already installed
The property has not participated in the Solar Home Program for that address
The rental provider and all renters must sign a Solar Homes Rental provider-Renter Agreement
The property currently has tenants with a rental agreement in place.
