The Solar for Business Victoria Program is an initiative directed towards small businesses in Victoria. The aim of this program is to help said businesses lower their energy costs by offering rebates that reduce the upfront cost of solar system installation.

About the Solar for Business Program in VIC

By helping lower the upfront cost of installing a small-scale solar system, small businesses can gain access to the benefits of going solar.

According to the VIC government, the rebates can cover up to 50 percent of the overall solar system cost – with a maximum rebate of up to $3,500. Meaning the rebate will cap at 50 percent or $3,500 of the cost on eligible solar systems.

Eligibility for the Solar for Business Program VIC

In order to qualify for this initiative, entities must follow the eligibility criteria set forth by the VIC government. These requirements are as followed:

The business must employ no less than 20 people, excluding the business owner;
The business must operate on a non-residential premise;

The premises from which this business operates must be individually metered;
The business has not received the Solar for Business rebate before;
The solar system must be on the list of approved products; and
The solar system being installed must have a PV capacity size of up to 30kW.
