About Solar Panel Rebates in VIC

VIC residents who are interested in going solar can receive government assistance in the form of a rebate of up to $1,400 or an interest-free loan going towards the installation of a solar panel system. Applicants that are interested in this program should refer to the Solar Homes Program eligibility criteria.

Solar Interest-Free Loans VIC

Applicants can also further reduce costs by applying for an interest-free loan. In line with the solar rebate, this loan can be applied up to $1,400.

Solar Panel Rebates Eligibility in VIC

Victorian residents that are eligible to receive a rebate to install a solar PV system in their home must adhere to the following criteria:

Own property in Victoria.
Have not already received a rebate under the Solar Homes Program.
The property address must not have previously taken part of the Solar Homes Program.
If it is an existing property, it must not be valued over $3 million
A solar retailer that participates in the Solar Homes Program must be used for the solar installation.
Solar systems must also be on the approved products list.
The homeowners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year.
